| 2002 - The oblong house is sited diagonally on its inclined terrain, following the logic of the positioning of traditional dwellings. The interior organisation of functions is achieved by intermediate levels along the length of the building; these are joined up by means of a network of ramps. Downward movement is at the same time the scaling of the privacy of the spaces from the most public to the most private. The dimensions and proportions of the building are reminiscent of those of traditional farmers' dwellings. The oblong shape with the narrow opening has as its purpose the solution in construction terms of a monolithic shell of exposed concrete and the shaping of the intermediate levels with light materials (wood) in response to cost - speed of construction criteria and that of integration into the mountain environment. |
