2002 - 2005 The installation of a ramp parallel to the road ensures the desired delay in penetration from the public to the private space of the residence. The presence of the louvre-like elevation around which the smooth entrance traffic coils contributes to this feeling. The placing of a two-storey void with a diaphanous ceiling where the vertical communication of the house is situated effectively cancels out the blind screen of the party wall by creating an inner atrium. The living-quarters, which open diagonally on to the exterior, making possible their unification, are on the ground floor. The three bedrooms of the four-member family are on the upper floor. The work was undertaken as a joint venture with the practice of the architects Memos Philippidis and Marita Nikoloutsou. Photographs: Erieta Attali |
